Joe Cross told Dr. Oz that he was able to get his health back on track by following the guidelines he used to follow. In a single weekend, Cross said you can turn around your health but you have to follow his rules. Cross said it is important to prepare your body before you start the weekend juice cleanse.

For the first two days leading up to the cleanse, do the following.

  • In the morning, drink 16 ounces of hot water with lemons and ginger.
  • You can drink 1 cup of tea in the evening.
  • Unless the meat is very lean, eliminate processed foods, sugar, dairy and caffeine.

After your body has been prepared for the juice, follow the guidelines listed below by Joe Cross.

  • You can drink five juices during the day.
  • You can eat a meal of fruits and vegetables for dinner.

  • 3 carrots
  • 2 apples
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger.

  • 4 plum tomatoes
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 large cucumber
