A life detox is a process of abstaining from unhealthy people and lifestyle habits that don’t serve your highest good in 2022. You can replace these draining habits with positive self-care protocols that can help you feel more energized.
You can conduct a lifestyle cleanse of your own.
Everything you need to know about bouncing back can be found in these practical steps.
It is possible to look better and feel better than you have before.
A life detox is an upgrade in lifestyle habits that remove negative influences from one’s daily environment.
If you’ve already tried a diet and supplements that are restricted and followed closely, you may have tried a nutritional cleanse to rid your body of toxins. Your lifestyle is more important than your diet when it comes to detoxification.
Periodically, life gives each person challenges or setbacks, and over time many of us – without realizing it consciously – accrue small, unhelpful habits that drag us down.
We begin to feel a bit despondency after the end result.
Where we used to lunge out of bed with enthusiasm each morning, we now sometimes feel a tad anxious, or just a bit “blah.”
A life detox, however, can streamline our typical day, lifting the malaise, and having us bouncing back and facing each day with eagerness once again.
You can achieve a daily life that flows more freely and joyfully with the help of twelve effective methods that detoxify a bloated lifestyle.
1. Use a Day Planner and a Week Planner
It is possible to experience more feelings of accomplishment during a typical weekday if you have the ability and willingness to maximize will.
Are you intrigued by the idea of improving your personal productivity?
Staying organized and on track can be accomplished with a weekly system.
You do not have to use a productivity system every single day. When you get off-track, it is important to have a system in place to fall back on.
Everybody gets off-track sometimes.
Just about everyone uses a calendar app on their smartphone to track appointments, which is good – but a calendar hardly comprises a complete productivity system.
It is necessary that you have something that will help you organize your thoughts and get things done.
A good organizational system will help you get rid of bad habits.
2. Plan Today for a Bright Future
Improving how you manage your time and energy is accomplished by taking a counterintuitive approach.
One of the most common mistakes people make in their day is forgetting to cultivate new acquaintances and deepen their existing relationships, because they are too focused on a current project.
You should plant seeds now for your harvest.
Even in business, cultivating relationships is the ultimate future business activity, because if you spend all of your time working with an existing client – without spending at least a little time generating future clients – it’s hard to reach that tipping point where your business will grow exponentially.
It is astounding what you can accomplish when you shift your perspective.
Relationship-tending is one of the most important activities of the day to begin with.
3. The Turnaround: Adopting a Positive Mindset
It might seem silly, but cultivating your sense of humor is essential to this process.
To optimize your typical weekday, you must have a light-hearted sense of play, otherwise, the whole endeavor becomes oppressive, and – ultimately – your attempted improvements won’t stick.
I have seen people try to be more organized, often by shame.
Think of the whole endeavor as a fun game.
If you don’t believe me, try approaching your life detox with this more positive attitude, and you’ll experience for yourself what a difference it can make.
Most who are winning at life have decided to enjoy finding solutions to problems because they have a determined ability to set and achieve goals.
The day is not over until it is over.
It can help to work backward: to win the year, you must win the month, but before you win the month you must first win your week, and to do that you must first win the day!
You can win a day by following through on a series of good choices.
4. Know that You Can Still Win the Day (Even After a Few False Starts)
It is not possible to win your day by being flawless. Winning is not flawless.
If you eat a plate of peanut butter cookies for breakfast, you are going to mess up. The day is not over yet. You can still take this thing.
Let’s say you screw up by watching reruns of Green Acres on Hulu during lunch, instead of going to the gym. Well, the day isn’t over yet. You can still take this thing.
The day isn’t over till it’s over. And you might not know until the following morning whether the day before was – overall – a productive one or not.
Even if you slip up a couple of times, you can still win the day by eating fresh vegetables with lunch and dinner, or going for a power-walk in your neighborhood before sleep.
5. See Optimization as a Game
The work part of your life isn’t the only part of your life that needs to be cleaned up.
The natural law of attraction that operates in the universe reveals to us that prosperity is often magnetized by enthusiasm and connectedness. In modern daily life, it’s easy to forget these basic principles of common sense.
Even if you spent all morning and afternoon reacting to problems, you can still allocate an hour or so from this day to reach out to your tribe of friends, acquaintances, relatives, and past clients to connect.
6. Decide that Your Own Health is Your Top Priority
The majority of Americans are currently living a lifestyle that is.
The problems that can be prevented are created by these habits.
Prevention is a way of orienting the mind towards positive lifestyle protocols that discourage disease.
To have a prevention mindset means to sustain a daily awareness that your health is a top priority.
It doesn’t mean that you make the perfect choice in every moment; it simply means that your primary intention is to put the amazing health information that you have access to, to good use.

Many people say they believe in prevention. But do they really do?
Our unconscious minds have a funny way of conspiring to help us get what we want when we decide something.
The more firm we are in our decision, the more clever our unconscious minds are and the more they work towards finding solutions to achieve that very thing.
When we decide firmly that our health is the most important thing in our lives, when we believe that good health is the foundation upon which we build a happy and meaningful life, then – and perhaps only then – do we have a prevention mindset.
If you agree with what these two popular doctors say about what true health really is, you should watch the video below.
7. Surround Yourself with Solution Experts
Each person needs a team of people who encourage health and support wellness. This begins with an excellent medical doctor, but it also might include a best friend, naturopath, nutritionist, fitness trainer, wellness coach, mental health therapist and/or workout buddy.
Who are you on your health team?
To detox your life, consider gently releasing the adults in your life who do not support your continued well-being and self-improvement.
8. Promote Restorative Sleep for a Fuller Detox
Many people are still dramatically underestimating the importance of a perfect night’s sleep.
During deep sleep, real repair and hormone regulation can happen.
The idea is to try to create the perfect scenario for the best sleep without having to resort to synthetic pills.
A super-dark room without electronic devices, a consistent sleep-and-wake schedule, and the correct lifestyle habits might be all you need to take your health to the next level.
As part of your life cleanse, you should go into your bedroom and look around as if you haven’t seen it before.
What can be done to provide you with a better night of sleep?
9. Implement Super Nutrition
Many people want to take pills to mask their symptoms rather than solve their problems.
I like pills and am grateful for modern medicine, but I also recognize that the responsibility of my own health begins with me and my own eating choices.
How to Avoid Toxicity and Anti-Nutrients in the Standard Diet
In some cases, grains contain anti-nutrients to assure the continued life cycle of the plant.
Grains need to be able to grow in an appropriate environment to continue their life cycle.
Grains that have lectins and enzyme-blockers in them protect themselves from predatory animals.
These enzyme-blockers disrupt a would-be predator’s digestive enzymes, discouraging the bird or animal from eating further grain meals.

Prevent Low-Level Toxicity by Eating Better-Prepared Grains
When we humans eat poorly prepared grains, our bodies often create extra belly fat in order to pad and protect our vital organs from toxicity.
It is possible to reduce irritation within your own body by being more careful with what you eat.
Most of the enzyme blockers disappear at the time when the grain starts to grow.
Lectins are toxic and act as natural pesticides for the grains, protecting them frombacteria, fungi, insects, worms, and rodents. Most people don’t know that the long-term consumption of unprepared grains can cause irritation. It can have an impact on a person’s health over time.
Increase Nutritional Benefits by Preparing Your Foods
Grains, beans, and legumes are full of lectins andidases. There are a number of toxins in potatoes, such as lectins, and they are known as glycoalkaloids. The group of toxins is known as anti-nutrients.
Lectins and enzyme blockers are mostly neutralized by sprouting or fermentation and sometimes the cooking process (cooking, however, does nothing to alter the toxic effects of the glycoalkaloids in potatoes).
It is strongly discouraged to eat raw potatoes because of the concentration of the glycoalkaloids in green and injured potatoes.
The body has naturaltrypsin and chymotrypsin in our small intestines and pepsin in our stomachs. The amylase is used for the digestion of starches.
With the blocking of these enzyme functions, the digestive process is altered and the absorption and uptake of essential nutrients from our food is disrupted; thus the name anti-nutrients.
Inflammation can be caused by toxicity in foods.
Llectins can cause devastating effects on our cells by tricking them into doing things they wouldn’t normally do.
My message for today is to either avoid the foods containing lectins or learn how to properly prepare them so that they don’t have the negative effects of anti-nutrients. At the very least, eat less of these problematic foods.
Soak Your Grains
As I mentioned above, sprouting and fermentation help to reduce the negative effects of enzyme blockers and lectins.
Additionally, you can soak your grains to:
- It is possible to remove the enzyme inhibitors.
- The absorption of minerals is blocked by phytic acid.
- Gut irritants are the lectins and the tannins.
- The breakdown of gluten is non-digestible and toxin-laden.
- It is non-digestible if you initiate the breakdown of cellulose.
- Lectins are an excellent way to remove them from food, and the InstantPot pressure cooker is excellent at it.
Proper preparation makes seeds, grains and nuts more readily digestible, making their nutrients more readily available for assimilation.
Lectins can be responsible for removing protective mucous from tissue, damaging the cell lining of our intestines, stimulating cells to secrete hormones, causing pancreatic enlargement and much more. They may even be responsible for tricking our immune systems into attacking ourselves as seen in the autoimmune diseases – like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, for example.
I eat more vegetables these days than I do grains, as a general rule. It would be better if I prepared them myself on those rare occasions. The health food stores are now carrying more sprouted grains, nuts, and seeds in their food products. In the video below, I show you my recipe for a delicious treat called “Bionic Oatmeal.”
My grandmother always told me “you are what you eat” and for me, those words from her wisdom never get old as I am constantly reminded of the benefits of eating correct foods with proper preparation.
“Toxins are a burden to the body when they build up inside. A detox cleanse can help us feel great again.”
“How Much Toxicity Does My Body Already Have?”
Have you ever done a detox?
Many believe that the human body benefits from a detox regimen periodically, especially today when we find ourselves surrounded often by the temptations of unhealthy foods.
A detox cleanse can help us feel great again, ridding our bodies of the bad stuff that can accumulate inside over time. Changing our daily dietary habits can also go a long way toward detoxifying the body.
Each new client arrives at the office with a different list of health symptoms or health issues. One may be complaining about headaches, while the other has elevated blood pressure.
Autoimmune = 1 out of 5 people in the US
These symptoms may not appear to have a common connection on the surface; however, many symptoms and client complaints disappear when toxicity is addressed.
The big concept here is that when daily irritants are removed, the body has, at last, an opportunity to heal itself in a fuller capacity.
What if Your Body Was Toxic and You Didn’t Know It?
General toxic overload is the cause of Toxic Syndrome. Toxicity can cause a person to experience one or more health problems.
Jim Harris is a graduate of the American Naturopathic Medical Institute who believes that our bodies have the ability to heal themselves when the correct information and energy is supplied in combination with the correct food, supplements, and herbs.
Detox Case Study: Jack Has Overly Sweet Blood
Jack came to see me because of his elevated blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
Jack fell into the category of general toxic overload using my standard evaluation methods.
Jack reduced his blood pressure medication by 50% during the first week of his Life Detox program.
Jack stopped taking his high blood pressure medication after two weeks.
Jack’s blood pressure was normal when I saw him four weeks into his program, and his blood sugar was close to normal. We were working with Jack’s diet and his digestion.
Detox Case Study: Peter’s Head Hurts
Peter had a number of symptoms, including headaches. Peter started a program to assist him in clearing his toxic burden after his evaluation indicated a general toxic overload.
Peter was amazed at the reduction of his symptoms which included weight loss, a degree of emotional stability he had not experienced in years, and no more daily headaches. His Toxic Syndrome symptoms had disappeared.
Synthetic Chemical Exposure (in an Unnatural World)
Jack and Peter’s stories are not unique, but they are the norm with my new clients.
The majority of us are not born with a toxic overload, but slowly build up a level of toxicity over decades through environmental exposures to substances toxic to our systems.
The toxic burden continues to add up slowly over time until a tipping point is reached when symptoms begin to arise like Jack’s elevated blood pressure and blood sugar and Peter’s mood swings and daily headaches.
A decline in health status is set in motion when toxic burden increases.
Toxins are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, and the lotions and soaps we use to groom ourselves. It is difficult to avoid toxin exposure on a daily basis but we can take steps to reduce our exposure.
There are four primary categories for tox exposure.
- environmental toxins
- household toxins
- food toxins
- lifestyle toxins
Pollution from cars and trucks goes into the air that we breathe. There are compounds in the air like Agent Orange and DDT that will be floating in the air for a long time.
Most of the 20 million people with asthma in this country live in areas with poor air quality.
Off-gases to the air we breathe in are caused by new furniture, carpets, rugs, and freshly painted walls.
Chemicals used as flame-retardants on our clothes and furniture fabrics persist for an extended period of time in the home environment, eventually accumulating in our bodies further adding to the toxic burden.
Fruits and vegetables are sprayed with pesticides and insecticides on a daily basis.
More than a third of fruit and vegetables and 40% of cereals contain pesticides that enter our bodies when we eat them, according to data.
We are aware of the dangers of cigarette smoking. Synthetic chemicals in drugs can end up as toxic deposits in the body, which is why they are both over the counter and prescription drugs. Adding to your toxic load are your body wash, perfume, and hair products.
It’s important that you understand that there is hope and there are solutions. You can feel better than you ever have before in your life.
How to Do a Whole Body Detox Cleanse
There is a lot we can do on a daily basis to reduce our exposure to harmful chemicals that add to our toxic load and to develop Toxic Syndrome.
When Toxic Syndrome is present due to an overwhelming toxic burden then a detoxification program must be instituted in order to reverse the ensuing downward decline in health status.
A detoxify regimen supervised by a health professional could be helpful to you.
“What About that Lemon Juice Cleanse I Hear About? Is that Good or Bad?”
The Master cleanse is a juice fast that encourages you to cleanse your body.
The Master Cleanser was published in 1979 and became popular after it was published in The Master Cleanse.
The sound of the Master cleanse is reminiscent of a Harry Potter villain, but it’s actually a juice fast that requires you to eat no food for at least 10 days and to drink.
The cleanse was made famous by a celebrity when she dropped weight for a film role using the cleanse.
Many people forget the original intent of the cleanse when they see the fad diet as a way to lose weight quickly.
the Master Cleanse is not a weight loss diet. It’s a 10-day regimen designed to detoxify the vital organs and tissues of the human body”
A saltwater flush in the morning, lemonade drinks for 6 to 12 hours a day, and one herbal laxative tea in the evening are included in the cleanse.
You will be squeezing lemons while on the Master cleanse.
The lemonade cleans out your body while the laxative tea and saltwater help pass the toxins, which is the most delicate way I can put it. Some people make it a part of their regimen.
It seems important to mention that – rather than drinking beer and eating pizza all year and then cleansing for 10 days – it would probably be much better for your body to simply eat healthy as a part of your daily lifestyle habits (then there isn’t as much need for a detox to begin with).
Main Recipe from the Master Cleanse
The lemonade recipe can be found here.
- 8oz of water
- There are 2 ounces of organic Grade-B maple syrup.
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice contains 2 Tablespoons.
- The cayenne pepper has a dash of it.
The lemon and cayenne help to remove toxins, while the Grade-B maple syrup contains minerals and energy that help to sustain you throughout the process.
Stanley Burroughs believed that by fasting your body you then didn’t have to spend energy on digesting food – which therefore allows your body to instead focus energies on cleaning out (instead of processing the toxins that are already in your standard daily diet). By going without food the theory is that the body will start to eat itself and pick out the weaker diseased parts of your body first which ultimately will make you stronger and healthier.
Alternative medicine is not backed by medical institutions. If this works, you can try it and see if you notice any differences in your body. I will only tell you about my experience.
Days 1 to 3 of the Detox
It felt weird to not eat because the lemonade will make you feel full but eating is ingrained in you. The first 3 days are the most difficult part of the Master cleanse.
I avoided watching or seeing others eat. It was important for me to not watch television during the cleanse. I don’t eat taco bell commercials because they are torture. This is something that is common. I have vegan friends who follow up the cleanse with a healthy plant-based diet, but they ended up on the internet reading everything about In-N- Out Burger and dreaming of day 11.
Days 4 to 7 of the Detox
I started to feel better by this point. I needed less sleep and woke up quickly in the mornings. I was a bit sleepy during the entire 10-day period, but I was able to get to work and not experience any dizziness.
Days 8 to 9 of the Detox
Mild cold and flu symptoms have been reported by some people. This was not the case with me as well.
The End of the Detox
Eating a lot of raw vegetables is what comes off of the Master cleanse.
By day 11 I was looking forward to a salad, but I took off the lemonade and went for a meal of soup and juice.
The day after that, I ate a lot of vegetables and salads.
I can’t imagine people doing this cleanse for more than 10 days.
Results of the 10-Day Master Cleanse:
At the end of the cleanse, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. I think it had a positive impact on my physical health. Would I recommend the Master cleanse to other people? See my answer below.
Yes! What I Liked Best about the Master Cleanse
For me personally, the best part of the cleanse is what it did for my self-confidence. Frankly, before starting the cleanse – I didn’t know if I had what-it-takes to complete it. I thought my blood sugar would drop too low and I’d become too weak to continue. After I completed the cleanse, I felt a true sense of accomplishment and felt like I could do almost anything life requires of me.
No! What I Liked Least about the Master Cleanse
- My concern is that the cleanse encourages people to eat badly in order to make up for it, and that is something that I don’t think is intended. Pizza and booze for six months and then a cleanse. Hmm, I think. That does not seem smart. That sounds like a diet to me. Making lifestyle changes that don’t cause toxins in the first place would be a good idea.
- It seems like a lot of sugar, that maple syrup in the lemonade.
- I don’t like the idea of people coming off the cleanse and then eating junk food as a reward for having survived the cleanse, they also often gain back all the weight they may have.
- There is an issue of addiction, finally. If we are addicted to things like flour, wine, dairy, sugar, then I think any sort of cleanse should be done under the supervision of a medical doctor. There are other cleanse besides the most popular Master cleanse. It is possible that one of the other cleanse regimes is a better fit for your body.
Other Tips to Remember if You Decide to Do the Master Cleanse
I have done the cleanse myself and witnessed many others go through it, so I can’t recommend it. If you decide that the cleanse is right for you, here are a few tips.
- It is recommended that you don’t do this cleanse again for at least 3 months.
- To keep a diary, you have to notice how different you feel each day.
- Although you will lose weight on the cleanse, you might need to stick to a mostly plant-based diet to maintain that loss.
- If you want to attempt this, you should read Stanley Burroughs’s book before you do. Don’t just read about it on the internet, you need to know the ins-and-outs.
The Detox Smoothie Diet
Freshly made green smoothies are believed to be good for the human body.
The types of smoothies that are potentially the most detoxifying are those made with lots of dark, leafy greens, a small amount of fruit, some raw, sprouted seeds, and ice.
The purpose of a cleanse is to help the body flush toxins from its organs, tissues, and bloodstream.
The Detox Smoothie Diet
Detox Smoothie Recipe to Improve Metabolism
Counting calories is not the only way to lose body fat permanently.
From decades of experimenting with health regimen, here are three things that I have learned.
- You can lose fat and improve your metabolism.
- To improve your metabolism and overall health.
- Keep your inner-body clean to improve your overall health.
Cleansing with a green smoothie diet is among the most highly rated cleanses. Green smoothies improve digestion with the increase in fiber and nutrients, and other reported results include increased energy, a reduction in craving for sugar and salt, as well as some loss in body fat.
It is a matter of time, but sometimes it is also a matter of opportunity.
Some of my favorite organic ingredients to include in my green smoothies include cilantro (to help remove mercury from the tissues; I try not to have cilantro more than three days in a row – I find it’s pretty potent stuff), broccoli (or better yet, freshly cut broccoli sprouts; I’m lucky to be able to buy trays of live-growing sprouts at my local farmers’ market), freshly squeezed limes and lemons (to help the liver), cucumber – for the skin – and a variety of kales and chards (loaded with antioxidants).
I like to add a small amount of green tea to the blender, as well as raw, sprouted pumpkin seeds and pre-soaked chia seeds, for the quality of the chia seeds.
On days when I work out hard, I might also add a raw hemp protein powder.
You can add a few raw dandelion leaves if you want to make yourself feel better.
I usually add a dash of ginger, turmeric, and cayenne to my smoothies, and sometimes half a small washed, organic apple.
I like the flavor combination of fresh spinach with frozen mango.
chlorophyll is helpful at removing heavy metals from the body, and I usually add a bit of blue-green algae.
Generally, I try to keep the amount of fruit I add very low, to reduce fructose intake. Add lots of vegetables to your smoothies, but only add as much fruit as you need to help suit your taste.
The green stems from fresh beets are probably the most detoxifying thing I have ever added to a green smoothie. You should only use a small amount of the stems of the plant because they are so cleansing, and you should have access to a nearby bathroom for the rest of the day.
This is a basic recipe that you can start with. I am fortunate to live in Southern California where I can find these items fresh year-round, but if you have to modify the recipe or make substitution, that is fine. If you use a quality blender with a very high-powered motor, it will help you make the smoothie more enjoyable.
- Enough green tea to cover the blades at the bottom of the blender.
- A freshly squeezed lemon is the source of this juice.
- There are a couple of small broccoli florets.
- Any live or well-rinsed microgreens, such as lettuce, broccoli, and arugula.
- A small amount of fresh greens, such as parsley, or leafy greens.
- There is a small wedge of cucumber.
- There is a small wedge of red bell pepper.
- The chunk of organic apple is for beginners.
- If you are new to green smoothies, you should use a few cubes of frozen mango.
- There was a dash of ginger, cayenne, and turmeric.
- The chia seeds have been soaked.
- A small amount of raw, sprouted pumpkin seeds.
- There is a small amount of the rawCannabidiolProtein powder.
- some ice
You may have to pause to shake the blender to get out of the air bubble and add a bit of spring water, depending on how many frozen ingredients you had to use.
If you are feeling brave, you can add advanced ingredients such as dandelion greens, or even cilantro to your green smoothie later on. I suggest that you never have the advanced ingredients for more than 3 days in a row. I want you to be careful in your approach, and I want you to ask your doctor’s opinion first.
My morning green smoothies. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to find live broccoli sprouts and other microgreens at my local farmers market.
Another advanced strategy is to remove all fruit (except a bit of lime juice) from your smoothie. This lowers the fructose content and makes your shake even healthier (if you’re new to green smoothies, though, you will probably want the fruit, and then you can taper down gradually over time).
I like to take a high quality, food-based calcium/magnesium supplement along with my green smoothie, as the calcium can bind to the less-advantageous oxalates, as my understanding is that oxalic acid serves as a sort of natural self.
It’s fairly easy to follow my own smoothie regimen for healthy changes.
I make a green smoothie for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the lunchtime smoothie has entirely different ingredients than the morning smoothie, and I almost never repeat ingredients twice in one day.
On days when I exercise intensely – pumping iron at the gym or going for an outdoor run – I drink more tea throughout the day, plus have a raw-food frozen dessert in the evening.
My favorite among these, is, of course, is the green smoothie.
I think green smoothies are good for you because they are fresh, mild to the system, tasty, healthy and safe, and I think I have a leaner waist now than I did 7 years ago when I didn’t know how to make green smoothies. If you have a person on your team that is a naturopath, I strongly encourage you to consult with your doctor before making any significant changes to your diet.
10. To Detox, Increase Mobility and Strengthen Muscles
True cross-functional fitness can solve a lot of problems.
The best fitness regimen is not always the same.
Your own fitness regimen can include a smorgasbord of effective movement modalities – including long walks, bike rides, stretching with balls and rollers, pilates, yoga, high-intensity interval training, cardio, and weight training.
As a part of your life cleanse, find ways to move more.
11. Slow Your Roll
Relentless low-level stress is a big problem in modern life because it sneaks up on us and can erode our health.
Dane Findley doing Flotation Therapy: here I am preparing to enter a float tank. I use a float tank to lower stress hormones. There have been over 60 years of research on the benefits of flotation therapy that have established its ability to reduce adrenaline and cortisol within the human body.
The good news is that stress-impact is often reduced after following the above life detoxification methods.
However, sometimes people need a bit of extra help in managing their body’s biological responses to their own thoughts, feelings, and circumstances.
Some of us are more prone to addiction challenges that need to be prioritized and addressed, so more self-care protocols might be appropriate.
12. To Detox, Look for Ways to Inspire and Encourage Yourself
Reconnecting with your original intention for undertaking any self-improvement program will help energize you as you sprint toward the finish line and achieve your goals.
To help with this, I craft weekly inspirational messages that are actionable, helping you to take valuable ideas that you’ve been hearing and reading about – and turn them into actual lifestyle improvements within your typical week.
We know more today about how to live a long, robustly healthful life than we ever have before.
We know what to do and what not to do.
In order to take our health to the next level, we need inspiration, as much as information.
People who are strong and healthy are more poised for excellence; they have the physical energy that is required to show up for life with enthusiasm and clarity (there’s a reason why, on jet airliners, flight stewards ask that, in the event of a change in cabin pressure, you put the oxygen mask on yourself first before helping others).
People who are strong and healthy:
- They are better able to care for their loved ones.
- Make their parents even better.
- Make even better friends.
- Make their spouses even better.
- They should do better in their careers.
- are more joyful
You are also modeling for those you love what good self-care is when you take daily steps towards improving your health. By example, you are teaching them what is possible.
Who are you aware of who might find inspiration in this article?
I encourage you to use the Share buttons to motivate your friends.
The prevention mindset is a choice. It’s your body, so it’s your rules, and whether or not you decide to consciously make improving your health your top priority is entirely up to you – you shouldn’t be shamed into it or forced into it.
Prevention simply means that you don’t have to wait until you or someone you love has a significant health challenge before you make having robust, excellent health your number-one priority.
It is possible to look into what your typical day has become and make small improvements during a life cleanse.
When things felt simpler, this process can help turn life from black-and-white back into the bright colors of youth.
As an adult, you may need to be more deliberate in how you periodically simplify and refine your daily routine. Unfortunately, it probably won’t happen on its own.
I have many nerdy hobbies. Among them, I enjoy experimenting with ways to improve self-efficiency, and then sharing my discoveries about what actually works. In fact, this site evolved from an idea I had many years ago of providing uplifting solutions to the everyday challenges of busy people.
If, at the moment, you happen to be feeling overwhelmed, then undertaking a life detox might sound impossible to you – but that’s only because you haven’t yet started turning your improvements into habits.
The hardest part is getting started.
Once you get your momentum going, it becomes progressively easier to take better care of yourself.
