The environmental impact of activewear is larger due to all the synthetics used as well as the fact that sportswear gets worn out quicker. It is important to look for durable, sustainable, and ethical clothing.

The Swedish brand uses Tencel and Roica V550, which is certified cradle-to-cradle, instead of regular spandex andelastane in their products. They have good certifications for their supply chain.

Miakoda is a NYC based and locally made loungewear brand. The fabric is soft and the cut is very comfortable, I love my leggings from them. They use blends of bamboo, organic cotton, lyocell and soy in their fabrics.

One of our family’s favourite brands is Tentree, which has an active line of sports bras, leggings, shorts, joggers, and tops made from recycled materials. Their commitment to planting 10 trees for every purchase is represented by their name and they have a variety of other initiatives as well.

The People Tree has an active line. Everything in the collection is organic and fair trade certified.

Groceries Apparel has a nice selection of clothing which could be great for yoga and exercise. They use a variety of sustainable materials and natural dyes.

Inclusive and sustainable outdoor apparel is available. With clothing specially designed for hiking, camping, climbing and other outdoor activities, it is possible for people to have fun outside. They use recycled materials.

A yoga and exercise brand from Germany has a wide range of different styles. They have a great selection of colors and prints, and I like their tops with built-in bras. There are a variety of eco fabrics from certified organic cotton, to Tencel Lyocell, to recycled polyester, made by people paid fair wages in their factories in Turkey and China.
